I only read this one a couple of years ago and had not realised that it was a future story when it was written. It’s a great story and has wonderful characters. General Anna is De Bestest Character EVER. Still, this book does exactly what I hated about children’s books when I was a child and what still irks me to no end. The author explicates everything. “This is…. and it means… so that …” Urgh!
