This looks more like knitting than crocheting. (Just one of my pet peeves.) Still amazing, however it was done!
There was apparently a whole contest thing about it.
You would love this book, on ancient textiles as women’s work. She introduced the idea of “The String Revolution”, a technological advance right up there with fire, stone tools, and agriculture. One of its correlates was “The Babysling Revolution”, which let humans lose the hair and yet carry around infants too weak to hold on.
